Dr. Neil graduated from the State University of New York at Albany in 1987 and entered Stony Brook Dental School immediately thereafter. He graduated at the top of his class in 1991 and took a hospital-based General Practice Residency position at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, Long Island. He taught there for almost 25 years following residency while working a full-time Private Practice.
It was at North Shore University Hospital that Dr. Neil was able to perfect and develop so many of the skills from Dental School that allowed him to feel comfortable treating all types of patients and dental conditions. Additionally, Dr Neil went back to school at NYU’s prestigious post-doctoral program for Surgical Placement of Dental Implants and Complex/Advanced Full Mouth Rehabilitation. He completed a three-year certificated program at NYU Dental School and taught there as well , for an additional ten years .
As a result of his extensive training, Dr. Neil works with patients that just require one crown ranging all the way to full mouth rehabilitation, utilizing various modalities such as Veneers, lasers, implants, computer analysis, and digital and cosmetic imaging. Over his almost 35 years of Private Practice where his continuing education never ends, he has amassed the skill set to handle very complex dental cases.
Dr. Neil takes pride in maintaining the highest standards of care by attending continuing dental education courses throughout the year. Dr. Neil has completed a rigorous continuum at the L.D. Pankey Institute spanning many weeks of study over nine years, where full mouth rehabilitation and occlusion (the dental bite) have been mastered. Attendance at these courses allows him to perfect his skills in oral rehabilitation and patient care. The Pankey Institute has taught Dr. Neil how to care for his patients on a one-to-one basis, developing relationships for a lifetime.
Dr. Neil has three kids, one granddaughter and a wonderful wife, who can be found working at the office, or taking yoga and strength training classes. The doctor enjoys golfing, exercising, and spending time with his family.
Dr. Neil enjoys lecturing to local study clubs as well as giving presentations to other dentists at local and national dental Meetings, local health-related groups, or at medical/dental fairs.
